Killer Chicken Tutorial

"Killer Chicken" was inspired by a tee shirt worn by a customer that came into my gallery the summer of 2005. He purchased the shirt while visiting an Arizona restaurant called CHUY's Baja Broiler, home of the Killer Chicken. I instantly bonded with this chicken. I mean - how could you not love a surfboard riding chicken with a fowl attitude? Now THAT cracks me up. I contacted Chuy's and told them I was going to create a sculpture of my vision of their whacked out chicken. They asked me to show them the results when I was done. Well, here it is, from start to finish. I hope you enjoy KILLER CHICKEN as much as I have enjoyed bringing him to life.

Walk Across America (1996-1998)

From September 1996 to October 1998, I experienced the greatest adventure of my life, a 5200 mile solo walk across America to raise awareness for Children with AIDS. The route took me from Miami to Seattle (the long way, via San Diego).I have started and will hopefully complete a book describing this journey of a lifetime. Till then, here are a few images.I'd suggest scrolling through rather than slideshow as I've written quite a few captions.Enjoy.

Me and My Boy

In a meditation a couple nights ago, I was given a gift - a message of sorts. It went something like this ... "What is the most important priority in your life? My son and my relationship to my son - being a good father. And if I were on my death bed, would I consider my life sucessful? And the answer came back a loud HELL YES - a Great Full life and why? Because if I never accomplished another thing in my life, I KNOW that I have been a great father to my son." This, was a huge relief. Now, anything I ever even attempt in the future really doesn't matter, as long as I do everything I can to be the best possible father to my son." It was a great meditation which brought me so much gratitude and joy. I love my boy.
