Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne - 07, 08, 09
Hiking north from Tuolumne Meadows in the N.E. corner of Yosemite N.P. we followed the Tuolumne River down into the Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne. We base camped about 6 miles in, at Glen Aulin camp, at the base of a series of waterfalls. We then day-hiked down the river to a place where we hit almost 2 continuous miles of waterfalls and cascades. The trip was planned to coincide with high water flow, the longest day of the year and almost a full moon, as well as being easy enough and beautiful enough to entice my wife, PJ, to join us.
