Work at Arkisto with Photo Archives in Lapua, 2009
Faces - Stories - Places: a photo documentation of the work of Niina Ala-Fossi and Ferenc Vilisics on their project in Finland and Hungary simply named as "Lapuaprojekti".
We tell stories untold: memories of the everyday Finnish on the Hungarian volunteering soldiers stationed in Lapua during early 1940 in the so-called Winter War.
With a photography exhibition we aim to show the people who were eager to share their memories from those difficult times of war. Small details, gestures and personal memories of everyday life can help us - children of late 20th century - understanding how these people saw and welcomed men of different language and culture.
This is not a professional history research. Personal memories and stories from local Lapua citizens are in focus.
