Downhill ride into Borrego Springs
Through out Borrego Springs, there are about 50 sculptures of creatures that once roamed this valley.
All were created by artist Ricardo Breceda.

It's a little early for the migratory Swainson's Hawks. No sightings this morning.

A desert oasis is created when underground water flows to the surface.
And that's why palm trees grow around oasis. Mike the man.
Late afternoon is a favorite time in the desert.

Today, we're hiking a slot canyon in Borrego.
I knew I shouldn't have had seconds.

It's a windy day, a prelude to the coming stormfront.
