Employees and staff from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman warm up for the 5K run/walk on Saturday, March 28. The event was part of Texas Health Kaufman's 30th anniversary celebration.
Texas Health Kaufman President Patsy Youngs joined those warming up for the race.
Texas Health Kaufman Board Chairman Carl Staff (left), Chief Nursing Officer Krista Baty (third from left) and Board Member Steve Robertson (right), waited for the race to begin.
Racers pinned their numbers on in the relative warmth of the registration tent.
Runners and walkers lined up for the start of the 5K.
Whisky the dog was one of the race's four-legged participants.
Race winnners received their medals as part of the anniversary celebration.
Dr. William Fortner, mayor of Kaufman, read a city proclamation declaring March 28 as “Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman Day” in honor of the hospital's anniversary.
A sign for Ed Hall Drive was unveiled as part of the anniversary celebration.
Members of Ed Hall's family attended the event. Dr. Hall helped get the hospital built and served as its medical director.
Cake was served to all visitors, employees and honorees.
