The Church of St Stephen in Stephen's Square in Vienna. The Viener Neustadter winged altar made in 1447 at the request of Emperor Frederick III (whose tomb is opposite it). Two triptychs stacked on top of each other (the taller one is four times larger than the one beneath it). On weekdays the altar is closed; on weekends the panels are opened showing gilded wooden figures depicting events in the life of the Virgin Mary.
