This is a modified friendship star pattern, can't remember exact name... Hardest quilt so far to give away, but worth the commemoration of Sara and Jeremy's wedding! If I ever do it again, I'll use better contrast between maroon stars and border so you can see that the stars go out into border. I absolutely love this border fabric. Saved all scraps and used some in the quilt I made for our bed. Wish I'd bought the entire bolt!
I quilted this one in an alternating pattern of dense puzzle pieces and then a loose loopy star design. The effect results in some colors popping out (maroon) and others being pushed down (light blue).
