Driving through Antalya
Behind our hotel was the smallest of the climbing walls. Since it was Turkish independence day, they hung a flag.
Our hotel, Kadir's Tree Houses. This was the coolest place on Earth. So many climbers and mountaineers. It was cheap, food was good, many travelers and everyone was extremely outgoing.

The sign is really true. Many people had planned only short stays there, but were unable to leave.
Matt and Izzy trying to cross the gap. Reminds me of the sistine chapel
Izzy
We noticed that about ever 15 meters along all the roads, there were beer crates so that you could put your bottle in it when you were finished. Also, in the guide book, it said to beware because this area induces heavy drinking.
Izzy lead climbing the first route of the weekend.
The rest of the crew waiting for their turn. From top left, Konstantin, Miriam, Jevin, and Lara at the bottom of the picture
Izzy belaying someone
Izzy and I starting the night double fisting half liter bottles.
We taught our new friends a dice game from our fraternity days. The game was well received.
Matt debating what to do with his roll
The group, minus Jevin, from the left, Lara is Canadian. Then there is Izzy and myself. Miriam and Matt are American. Konstantin on the right is German. All of them except for Izzy, are exchange students at Koc University in Istanbul
Party party
We are a sophisticated group. The guy on the right was this random Australian who was lured over by all the noise we were making playing our dice game. We were eventually asked politely to leave.
Even more sophisticated, especially Matt.

Recovering at breakfast the next morning
still breakfast
Jevin

...breaking eggs
Starting the day right, with breakfast in a bottle.
Entering the ancient city of Olympos
Olympos
On the beach at Olympos. We climbed the mountain in the background later in the day.
Beach Pan
Olympus Pan. Sorry I was too lazy to make a better photomerge
the view from the path up the mountain
An old fortress
Beautiful valley. The ancient city is in the valley down there. Once you get far enough away from the coast, between the mountains, the ancient city ends, and the few buildings in the area are all clustered together.
Me in the old fortress overlooking the bay
Heaven. This climbing wall at Olympos was called heaven. If it's not obvious, this is a really really good place to climb
I climbed the left route, and Matt climbed (on the same rope) the right route. He couldn't finish his route because it was much harder, but I took some pictures from above him.
The view from the top of my route
top of my route
still in heaven...
looking down the wall I just climbed. see that small ledge? That's pretty much all there was to hold on to. I spent a lot of this route tilted sideways.
Matt climbing in heaven
Chimera, the eternal flames. Near Olympos is a place where methane gas comes out of the ground and has been for as long as anyone knows. In the old days, it was used to guide ships into land, now it's just used for making tea. You will notice that I am not in the picture. I knew the flames would be lame and decided it wasn't worth missing dinner.
More Chimera
Relaxing at a cafe on our last day. They had amazing fresh squeezed Pomegranate-Orange juice.
The view from the hammock I was napping in. The whole cafe was covered by grape and pomegranate vines
