A picture of the dinner table at the Petron Christmas Party. That's our superchief, Keith, on the right, and another chief, Vasanth, on the other side of Ben. Side note: Vasanth has the most amazing comb over I have ever seen. You can't really tell from this picture, but it originates in the back left corner of his head and wraps around in all directions. Truly a miracle of modern science.
This is the headlining entertainment for this year's xmas party. Their group is called 'Mocha.' The head of Engineering at the refinery admitted that every year they hire a group like this since the guys at the refinery like it so much (obviously). He has also admitted that they preferentially hire attractive girls to do the admin, secretarial, and document center work...not something you would admit to in the US.
Yes, that is me on the left side of the stage. They called for some single guys to come up, but hardly anyone got up to go. Most of the refinery guys are not single, or too shy to go up. I am neither, especially when it comes to scantily dressed ladies. The funny thing is I think this call for single guys produced one single guy, one not single guy, and one gay guy. You can decide which one I am...
So, after asking us a few questions, they sang us a song in which we were to pretend that they caught us cheating on them.
Veerrrrrrry nice! I think I actually pulled this off without looking too stupid.
And we had to beg for their forgiveness and plead for them to take us back.
I got paired up with 'Hershey.' I am not sure if this is a real name of a stage name. I hope these pictures satisfy my uncles' requests to stop sending pictures of me 'and the boys frolicking around the beach and the bar.'
This conversation went something like this: Hershey: Do you understand Tagalog? Me: No. Then I got a poster of the group, and said thanks, that was fun. The next day at work everyone knew my name and was congratulating me. Not such a bad thing to be recognized for.
This is a short clip of what we watched for 30 minutes or so. They did covers of Pussy Cat Dolls, Shakira, Beyonce, etc. It was a pretty good xmas party. The refinery also gave us free beer making it that much better.
For Christmas Eve, one of our drivers named Boi Pizzarro invited us over to his house, which was lovely.
This is Boi and his granddaughter, AJ.
Here he is again with his grandson, MJ. (Probably short for Michael Jordan)
You can't see MJ's face, but he is crying pretty hard. I have such a way with kids.
Natalie taking way too long to lose at pool.
Boi rented a Videoke machine (Video Karaoke). After a few drinkees, we got to singing. Ben sang 'Old Time Rock n Roll.'
HA!
We bough AJ some Princess Accessories. If you want to imagine a funny scene, how about picturing two white dudes who already get stared at in a crowded marketplace buying toys for a 6 yr old girl.
It's a good crew. You should be jealous.
80 degrees on Christmas Eve. Merry Christmas.
