"I'll have to mess around with it. Just for the learning experience alone. :) I've used dd to copy disk to disk before. But I'm no expert. "

"The best analogy I can think of for how it is built, is a Gentoo build. There are no ISO files, just different stages of tar balls that you extract at the root of the files system, e.g. / of you boot disk. The boot loader is then told to load the kernel specified.

In the case of Chromium OS, you need to roll your own image, like Hexxeh (Liam) has. Google builds and distributes Chrome OS in the same manner they do with the Chrome browser. The big difference between installing Chrome(ium) OS, is that you just copy the OS image to your target boot disk. No installation program needed. If you notice, the install instructions for Vanilla tell you to use dd to copy the extracted image file to your boot disk (usb stick or sd card or hdd). dd is a disk dump command that copies the entire file and duplicates it on the target media. This includes the size of the drive and the partitions."

"Well, I'd have read up a bit more on it. As I didn't see an obvious ISO file for it, and I don't think that I've ever installed Linux without and ISO before. "

"Hexxeh does good work, and for Chromebook users who want to experiment, switching to dev mode lets you install Linux applications like mplayer2, streamripper and about 25 others. The list grows as people suggest programs that would be handy."

"Hahahaha - Thanks +Kareem Gamal! I really did not see an easy option in picnik to black out a rectangular area, so I decided shades would do the trick and look cool."
Steve Pirk
"haha i like how you just covered ur email with shades."

"I don't know for sure, but I certainly felt a connection between myself and him. The trimmed version was my avatar for a while on a bunch of sites. lol"

"Well, it works when I zoom in, so it must be a browser issue."
Steve Pirk
"Hmmm. Strange, +Christopher Long, The link works, and for a second the image shows up, but then it goes away and there is just a red box where the image should be. I need to test this some more."
