Finished table w/ some action from the invisible players.
The top rail cut from the base
Arc lines made for the bottom rail with a nail & wire
Top rail (w/ the bottom rail underneath) atop the base w/ legs
Take keeps the blade from making the edges of the thin veneer splinter
The center playing surface & the racetrack are cut & separated
Time to stain the racetrack to give it warmth.
High density foam padding for the rail.
Once the foam is glued to the rail, the arduous task of stretching & staplng the vinyl begins.
The vinyl stretched like a drum across the top of the rail.
The center of the stretched vinyl is cut out & sliced to cit around the curve.
A million staples! ... but all necessary to keep it from wrinkling.
T-nuts are installed and the playing surface is ready for the thin foam. These will keep it flat against the base w/ out having drill from the top.
The center playing surface is ready to be covered
The felt (which is actually not felt) is stapled on the center piece -- another arduous job.
FINALLY! The finished table. :)
Close up. :)
I coudln't resist getting a lovely new chip set to compliment the new table. They're knockoffs of the classic Paulson tophat series. They dont weigh as much as I'd like, but they sure are pretty.
Notice that the worst hold cards becomes the nuts in this fictional hand. ;)
Short-stacked.
