Stuart Haggerty
Stuart Haggerty, born Stewart Hegarty in Movanagher, Ireland on May 18, 1911, emigrated to the United States, arriving in Quebec on May 5, 1929 on the HMS Andania. He became a U.S. citizen on January 28, 1936, and served in the U.S. Army 1941-1945 as a First Sergeant in the 759th Military Police Battalion in Europe. He married Eleanore Gill on June 30, 1942, and raised three children in Brooklyn, where he drove trolleys and buses for 28 years until his retirement in 1973. He died on October 26, 1989.
