"The thin nut should go in first. Always. It’s a jam nut. Fit the prop onto the taper and to the key, snug up the jam nut to the prop, then full torque the thick nut against the jam nut, install the cotter pin. I see guys really reefing the thick nut on first. No wonder they need a torch to break the prop loose."
