Market at the Opera station
Courtyard at the Louvre
Rue Montorgueil Market (near Les Halles) on Sunday
This is a group showing Parisians how to plant small gardens in their living spaces.
This is the Bastille Market. I looked for scarves here, but couldn't find anything I liked. We did get the best cheese & bread this trip from here.
Notice the heads are still on.
Beavers! I made Misha take this for Jj! They had assorted beavers through the entire cheese display.
They roast the chicken on site & sell for you to take home.
Bastille monument
L'as du Falafel in le Marais
Rue des Rosiers (the Jewish area of Marais)
The best falafel pita in the world! Ask for it with sauce picante & it's even better.
We got there at a good time & there were less than 10 people ahead of me. By the time we finished eating there was a very long line.
The line stretched past at least 4 store fronts.
Interior courtyard of our apartment building.
We were walking and all of a sudden noticed Notre Dame down the Seine.
He took a lot of pictures. It gets fairly cold there off the water!
Why don't you try zooming in?
More pictures as we get closer & closer.
Finally at the front. I think Misha sometimes wishes he had a tripod.
La Conciergerie from across the Seine
Misha got an awesome nutella crepe at this place.
Misha had to get a picture of the KFC! There is a Nike store right next to it.
Cheese we got from the Bastille market. We had to wrap it in a plastic bag & throw it away! It was too strong even for me!
So good.
The pâté Misha got at the Bastille market.
Tripe. ew.
Misha got this for Jaeden in Chinatown.
32 Rue du Four. Our apartment from last year. We were on the 4th floor. I loved that apartment. It is in the posh Saint Germain area of Paris.
This is 48 Rue du Four (the door to the right of Lollipops). The National Council of the Resistance met here to work against the Vichy regime in 1943.
The plaque explains the importance of the building.
Yes, I actually posed for a picture. People walking by looked at me like I was an idiot.
The Saint-Sulpice church. While walking around Saint Germain, we noticed a church that was being restored and decided to go inside.
Luxembourg garden
mini statue of liberty
Men playing bocce. Misha really wanted to join in.
Luxembourg Palace, built in the early 1600s.
We stopped here to get a baguette & some pastries before going to the Tuileries Garden.
There is a modern art installation in the Tuileries Garden. As much as I like modern art, it was such an eyesore in this beautiful space.
This is the Place de la Concorde. During the 1789 revolution, this square was renamed "Place de la Révolution" and the monarchs were guillotined here.
This explains that Louis XVI & Marie-Antoinette were guillotined here.
In the distance you can see the Arc du Triomphe
Fontaines de la Concorde
The Tokyo du Paris was closed & as we were walking back we noticed this.
We decided just to walk in that direction (after Misha took a dozen more pictures) and see if we were near it.
Under the tower. It was blue last year. I like this a lot better.
Back to le Marais
Musée Carnavalet -Paris history museum. They had a special exhibit on the French Revolution!
Courtyard at the Musée Carnavalet
I had Misha sneak a picture of the Assignat display
Statue of Louis XIV
Place des Vosges
Hôtel de Ville
Liberty, equality, fraternity
In this place, the 4th of September, 1870 The people of Paris proclaimed the Republic.
You would practically have to go a block down the street to get a full view.
