Local residents gather in front of U.S. Rep. Kathy Dahlkemper's Erie office. Dahlkemper disappointed many of the people she represents by voting for the "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" despite its unrestricted funding of health care plans that pay for abortion, including abortion for birth control. Dahlkemper had courted the pro-life vote, giving every indication that she opposed abortion as the unjust killing of innocent human beings. She continues to praise herself as "100-percent pro-life," and refuses to acknowledge that the PPACA subsidizes the unjust killings that she claims to oppose.
This gentleman, like so many area residents, was outraged by the recent mailing from Rep. Dahlkember, which contained some seriously distorted information about the new health law.

There was a small counter-demonstration, organized by one or more local nuns. If the federal government set up slush funds for executions or the abuse of prisoners and forced people to pay $1 per month into those funds when they paid their insurance premiums, these demonstrators might object quite vigorously. The insurance company slush funds required under the health care act do pay for abortion-on-demand, but no indications of any objections were apparent during this counter-demonstration.
Some of the counter-demonstrators said that the PPACA was "pro-life," but they seemed a lot more concerned about providing political cover and unconditional support for Rep. Dahlkemper than they were about issues like abortion funding and health care rationing.
