My neighborhood Racoon 8/30/10 and Opossum 4/8/10
Every night a racoon or two emerges from the storm drain on our street. They regularly visit our backyard but it's hard to get a photo without scaring them. We've seen them hide in this drain as people walk their dogs nearby. Occasionally we see Opossums in our backyard like this one that visited last April.

Sharp-shinned Hawk eats a Mourning Dove
I was trying to revive a dove that was stunned by flying into our glass door. A Sharp-shinned Hawk grabbed the dove as it flew up from my hands. The hawk proceeded to eat the dove in my backyard. Other birds made alarm calls and kept an eye on the hawk.
