We've arrived about 15 minutes before our reservation. It turns out that they were very slow and there was no need for the reservation.
I don't remember what I said, but I managed to capture her reaction. Isn't she beautiful?
The foyer of the restaurant featured these light fixtures which must look phenomenal at night when they are fully turned on. They also seem to hit at jellyfish or squid.
Beautiful stairs leading to the second floor and an additional seating area with bar.
We started out with some spicy edamame. This is what I call Japanese vegetarian hot-wings.
Amy finally opens her gift before the main dishes come out.
She is bewildered by the inscriptions.
And she is finally totally stoked about the new 16G iPod Touch.
Our sushi rolls come out first. The one closest to the camera is the "Banzai" roll (yes, that's tuna and strawberries on top) and the other one is the vegetable roll. In the bowl behind the platter is some fresh wasabi (much stronger than the wasabi paste to the right).
I had chosen the Asian BBQ Salmon. I've never had anything set before me that looked so artistic. I ate it anyway.
Amy chose the Teriyaki Flatiron Steak with garlic chips (not pictured). It was wonderful and full of flavor.
One of the sides we shared was the Thai Basil fried rice. We also enjoyed some brown rice as well.
Since they knew it was Amy's birthday (she happened to mention it when making the reservation), they provided a personalized dessert, tempura fried ice cream. Needless to say, the plate was empty when we left.
The Dallas skyline is partially visible as a backdrop to the restaurant.
We are only a few blocks away from the American Airlines Center where the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Stars play. This is a distant picture of the entrance to Victory Park.
We had to get a picture of this gallery with my brother's name on it. If it really is his, then he's got some serious money stashed away.
