Partial Solar Eclipse 26.01.2009
A partial solar elclipse was witnessed from Calicut Planetarium. The eclipse started at 2:27 pm and the greatest eclipse was observed at 3:15 pm. The eclipse was over at 3:57 pm. Only 20% of the eclipse was seen from Calicut. The eclipse was observed by using the cassigrain 3.5 inch reflector, 6 inch refractor and 4 inch reflector. The former two used solar filter, while the last telescope used the projection method. Nearly 200 people visited the planetarium to see this event. The picture was captured by using Canon 450 DSLR camera.
