Visingsö 2008
Visingsö ligger i Vättern, Sveriges näst största sjö. Här finns knappt 800 bofasta. Ön har en lång och intressant historia. Den var ett maktcentrum under medeltiden, aktualiserat av Guillous böcker om Arn. Under 1600-talet var ön huvudsäte för Brahe-ätten, innehavare av Sveriges största grevskap. Detta är vår tredje gång på Visingsö. Tidigare har vi såväl utforskat Visingsöborg som klättrat upp i tornet på Kumlaby Kyrka, så från därifrån har vi inga bilder här. Visingsö lies in Vättern, Sweden's second larges lake, and has nearly 800 inhabitants. Vättern has a long and interesting history; e.g. a center of power in the Middle Ages, and during the 17th century the home of the Brahe dynasty, holder of Sweden'a largest countship. This our third time at Visingsö. Earlier we have explored the Visingsö castle as well as climbed the tower of Kumlaby Church – so no pictures from there in this.
