The landscape was beautiful, so we stopped time-to-time to take some photos. This was the first stop.
There were many shorter and longer tunnels on the way.
Lake Luzern on the right.
Organic sensor, EF-S lens. :)
Traffic jam just before Gotthard Tunnel (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotthard_Road_Tunnel). After 30 minutes of just standing in the traffic jam (we stood just behind the yellow trucks), we decided to look around maybe we can find another way.
This is still not the entrance of the Gotthard Tunnel, it is a 500m tunnel before that. And we needed to go back even farther.
There was no other way, so we want back to the queue. But at least we made some nice photos. :) In the end it took about 2 hours to get into the tunnel
Now we went over it, it is the Italian speaking part.
First stop: Locarno, walking in the city.
Andi driving back to our place at Melide.
View from our hotel room. Not bad. :)
Melide
That's our hotel. The white one in the center.
Yes, that one!

The restaurant.
An old and abandoned hotel lit by only the built-in flash of my camera. Not too many things are visible. :)

On the way to Lugano.
After a nice pizza, we went ahead back to Zürich. The weather was very beautiful, and we went through the other tunnel (San Bernardino)
We had a traffic jam ahead of us here, too. Though it was better, since the scenery was much more beautiful!
Someone broke down in the middle of the traffic jam.
Many cars are behind us. :)
Slowly getting closer to the tunnel. You can follow it in the map.
Last photo before the tunnel. It took 2 hours again to get there, but we were prepared this time. :)
A storm is approaching.
And here it is!
Traffic jam in the storm.
