Moab 2009
Kathy + Josh, Steph + Klc, Me and Sharon all went out to Moab for a little mtn biking. Logistics were a nightmare. How do you get you, your bike, and a car that can carry bikes out to the middle of the desert? What a pain. United wanted to charge $175 each way to put a bike in their hold. Alaska's connections are suspect s.t. steph took 33 hours to reach Moab. Maybe drive next time Steph? And when everyone arrived in Denver, it was -8 C with 5cm of snow! Then the Moab bike shop charged $65/day to rent bikes. Even if the day started at 2pm! ouch! That's a lift ticket. Then, on our first ride Kathy and Josh learned about the thorny bushes the hard way. We spent hours the next morning picking thorns out of tires. What a waste of time! But we learned our lesson. The rest of the trip was much smoother.
