Walkway Project
Here are pictures of the walkway project. The walkway is made of concrete pavers in a pattern with double standard and half standard sizes. I started designing the project, ordered the material, and got the foundation work done in July (which took a while) but finally put it all together in Sept. Overall, I am very pleased with the project, especially since it's the first time I've done anything like it. If you are planning on doing this project however, make sure the place you rent the compactor has a pad to put over the metal plate. I couldn't find a place anywhere that had one with a pad to protect the pavers from cracking. The guy at Home Depot said to strap a pillow to it :(. Well needless to say that didn't work. The compactor wouldn't move. All of the vibration was absorbed. So instead, use a blanket you don't mind wasting (preferably one you've janked from an airline :) ). That does the trick.
