A shiny nickel to the first person to name the type of duck this is!
I like how this bird looks jowly and curmudgeonly. "Harrumph."
Opa opens his 80th (!) birthday gifts. You will never meet sweeter people than Ben's Oma & Opa - I am very very lucky to know them.
Sachertorte! Es schmeckt!
Sorcha - the world's best puppy!
And here begins the many Alamo pictures...
Armadillo!
One thing I found really difficult to capture on film is just how sandwiched the Alamo is in downtown San Antonio - just nestled in between buildings. Here's one just across the street.
I read the name and think of Ziggy Stardust. I am a bad history nerd. :(
I learned a lot about the heroes of the Alamo - Freemasons! I had no idea!
I love this man. :) So much.
Damage from cannon fire.
Gorgeous detail from around the main door.
This damn bird... Every time I managed to get him in focus, he turned away. Boo bird.
Really amazing story about a Japanese professor who visited the Alamo and was inspired to write this poem (in Chinese) - I was a little disappointed that there wasn't a translation available on site.
This photo belies the size of these fish. HUGE. As big as a bread box, easily. Very pretty and tranquil.
Trashcan!!! *shakes fist*
Deep in the heart of Texas!
So much beautiful architecture in San Antonio - I was really blown away!
I need to brighten a lot of my pictures. The overcast day (and being haphazard with my settings) kind of washed out a lot of the beautiful signs - so much color!
The riverwalk - at the top of our "Next Time!" list!
Mallard ducks - just like in Wisconsin!
Wherever I go I take tons of bird pictures... *shrug*
Started out cloudy and turned into a _beautiful_ day - we got really lucky!
Hands down, best Mexican food I have ever eaten! We waddled around for hours afterward and I had a mini food coma before the rodeo.
My man is such a sport. :)
Ben's adorable mom, Joanne!
Holy cow! (Moo!)
I think Ben makes a dashing cowboy - I'm so lucky!
