One advantage of taking a road that no one else in our group did was this view of some volcanoes.
A lake that's a nesting/breeding ground for a type of swan. The place was loaded with mosquitos.
Standing still enough to get a picture. The mosquitoes were swarming him.
Getting close to sunset. This is before our car breaks down.
Bison off the side of the road. They stopped up traffic. Some people would actually stop in the middle of the lane to let people out and to take pictures. This happened not only here but anywhere wildlife was spotted including a beaver.
At Fountain Paint Pot
Stay on the path or you might die
Beautiful blue
Mark looking out at the area.
It's crazy how some flowers can grow so close to these geysers and fumaroles.
Some trees still standing
Some sort of bird has made it's home.
Here we are at Old Faithful. It teased us a few times with small eruptions before it really went off.
It was a bright day
Still at Old Faithful
Just met up with Stephen after getting the car fixed. Now we're on the road. Too bad he missed Old Faithful.
I believe this is Yellowstone River
Some hot springs off the road
I believe this is at Mud Volcano
Strolling up the path
Those bison were getting close
I don't know that I was supposed to be that close to the bison but I stayed on the path.
A bison looking for a warm spot
He found it after crossing the pathway
They're heading toward us! Oh,no.
Pretty view from the Mud Volcano area
Views from the car
At the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone
View of the lower falls
There's nothing wrong with my face. The wind was blowing strands of my hair around.
Rainbow at the Upper Falls

Another mud pot at the fountain paint pots
A geyser at the fountain paint pots
Old Faithful erupting. Sorry it turns sideways. I forgot to zoom out before I started the video and I wanted to capture the full height of the eruption.
Still at Artist's paintpots. This is spitting mud.
View from one of the turn offs on our way up to Mammoth Hot Springs
Megan's camera decided to give her a hard time
Some of the many wildflowers
A petrified wood
Lone rider scouting out the path ahead of a group of people horseback riding
Here's the horseback riding group. They actually had to go up to the road to go around an area where a grizzly bear was napping.
More wildflowers
That black little spot heading up to the large pine tree is a black bear cub. There were a few of them and they moved pretty fast. This was the only shot I could get.
Minerva terrace at Mammoth Hot Springs
At one of the terraces at Mammoth Hot Springs. There wasn't much water around. This area had a little trickle.
Cleopatra terrace
Detailed look at the Minerva terrace. It would have looked awesome if there was water coming down the terrace.
One of the many rivers and streams going through Yellowstone
This river is by the Sheepeater Cliff
Roaring Mountain. It's hard to see but there are a few areas where you can see steam coming up from the side of the mtn. You can also hear the steam building up inside.
View of the old burnt trees amongst the new growth
Our camp site. We shared it with Marie and Nathan and Nikki
Sunday morning at camp. The sun is just coming up.
