Pretty much everything you need to make a starter.
Sanitize the growler.
This is a vial of yeast.
4 cups of water
4 oz of dry liquid malt extract (DME), we use ultra light or light.
Add the DME to the water on the stove.
Turn the stove on high.
Stir to prevent scalding, WATCH THE POT!
While waiting for a boil measure 4 GRAMS of yeast nutrient.
Also sanitize the funnel and air lock in the sink. Use the water from the growler.
WATCH THE STOVE! I have boiled over a lot!
Stiring to prevent protein coagulation.
Let boil for 10-15 minutes
Add yeast nutrients last minute or two.
make sure to stir
Prepare an ice bath for the growler.
Option:ame the lip of the growler to kill everything.
Using a funnel and lifting pour the really hot "wort" into the grower.
Flame some aluminum foil to place over the top of the growler
Let the growler cool for a while before sticking in the water, otherwise it may burst. Chill, swirl once an a while, this may take close to an hour.
Airate the wort like crazy
Flame the lip again
Carefully open the yeast vial.
Flame the top edge.
Pitch the yeast
Flame the air lock a bit, careful I am prone to melting these EDIT: Don't use an airlock, just use aluminum foil.

All done! Let it sit for a for at least 12 hours, swirling as often as possible.
