In spring winter the snow starts to melt away faster than the ice coverage on lakes disappear.
The spring sun melts the remaining snow at fast paste.
The Sun doesn't rise high but it still has amazing effects.
At Eastern they burn the bonnets to keep the bad spirits away for the rest of the year.
Only some snow is left where the sping sun haven't been able to touch the snow.
Spring is clear but the spring sun cannot maintain the temperatures high. At night the temperatures are below zero.
In order to keep the road safe at winter they use gravel to increase the friction. In spring it becomes a dust problem.
The nature isn't capable to react the change so quickly but it takes some time to the plants to get green.
Pines and all green plants are green even in the winter.

Snow pileups are the formed when the plow trucks clear the way in winter.
Water finds it's own path eventually to the small lakes and rivers that are everywhere.
You are able to walk and explore the green areas by yourself.
And see how the nature has preserved the plants trough winter.
Ice absorbs the heat of the Sun worse than the colourour materials so it stays longer solid.
Small bubbles are left trapped under the ice.
After a week or two the first green leafs of trees start to appear and the rapid growth of the nordic nature starts.
There are lakes everywhere where anyone can freely go to swim. The water may be cold in the first months of the summer.
The view starts to get greener and greener.
Also the first flowers appear.

In summer it's good to prepair to the next winter by cutting the woods that you need for heating the houses. The wood dries during the summer.
In summer it's nice and bright. A little up north the sun doesn't set at all at night.
In summer it's good to do some repairing and conserving for the old buildings.
A house with a leeking roof won't last for 5 years. But a building that has a good roof lasts for a lifetime.

The farmers preserves the first winter foods for the cattle with Finnish AIV-techniques at end of the June.
Many times it rains in Finland but the climate is not humid or muggy. Rather it's dry.
Old Finnish saying says: When it rains and the sun is shining the summer is coming.

And the light changes fast when the clowds gets in the way.
The northern possition makes the evening skyes look very beautiful.
The Sun sets last for hours when the Sun makes the long route along the horisont.
Summer is also the time of the summer hollyday. Many various activities are held during the summer months.
For examble many Finns go camping to the beautiful Finnish nature. There are special camping areas made for this activity.
You can see wildlife everywhere. Even in your backgarden.
It's good to enjoy the good weathers and the sunshine when the nature is most beautifull.
In midsummersday the day is the longest. At north the sun won't set and in the south there is only long dawn where the night should be. Finns celebrate the event in their second homes where they are nearer the nature. Usually they burn a bondfire in the midsummers day.
Swans just swimming next to you... Swan is the national bird of Finland.
You may also want to see the sea and experiance the inner islands of the seas that even Tove Jansson the writer of Muumin books got her inspiration.
The oldest way, the windpower gives you good and quiet ride.
There are thousands of small islands that protects from the strong wind from the Baltic sea.
You can land into unhabitat island and make a fire for the pretetermined places and cook your own meals.
Or you may take a dive into the warm sea waters. Alone or
Together with your friends.

It's possible to just sunbathe, enjoy the privacy and the view.

Tampere is founded on a strech of land that is surrounded by two lakes and has a rapid river run throuhg it where they take waterpower.
The one activities of Finnish summer is music festivals. They have rock, pop, country, alternative etc... Everything you can imagine and those are held right next to the nature.
Or if you prefer the amusement parks with funny gadgets it's a good destination to take the kids.

When the fall starts to come. The first you see it in the sunlight and the trees.
The trees start to prepair for the winter and coloured leafs appear.
Also other plants start to prepair for the upcoming winter

The southern spiecies don't know when the winter is coming and those last longer time green.
Wind throws and tears the yellow leafs from the trees.
It's possible to see everything that were green a while ago just bear and rugid
Some grasses stay up after they have died and let the siemens out on the snow and water to let those go to new habitats
The coulourful trees prepair for the worst.
Ducks and other birds fly to southern lands like Germany or as far as northern Africa away from the coldness.

The fall is rough, windy and rainy but beautiful.
one morning you may wake up and it have snow.
The snow tries to fight against the morningsun since it don't like to melt yet.
The ice and snow has catched also small brances and trees.
The Sun is low in the sky but still has the power to melt everything.
The roads turns also slippery from the black ice.
Everything just looks too beautiful on snow white coverage.
Even the ice have started to formate on the surface.

Soon the winter has come and the snowing starts to cover everything into its beautiful white coverage.
However, you have to be careful on the road since the snow can be tricky...
After a blizzard there will be the Sun shining.
Everything ugly is now beautiful and white.
Even the cars and you have to blow your driveway clean from the snow.
Nothing outside is speared from the snow.
You may leave tracks to the pure white snow and just enjoy the light that snow spreads around.
It's a different experiance comparrison to the darkness of the fall.
Even skiing is doable after you have snow.
A bunny has left its footprints in th snow.

Everybody have to clean the snow from the driveways.

The machines have to be durable for harch weathers and diesel has special addins to lower the viscosity.
Even the sea freezes.
You are able to just walk to the other side or scate on the sea.
Just like the muumin characters in the winter episodes.
Just few months ago you were here sailing and now it's all solid and walkable...
In southern Finland there aren't so muchh snow but still it looks nice and wintery.
The sea has only 0,5 - 1,5 % of salt so it can freeze.
Finland and Scandinavia has ice breakers to secure the boat connections trough the winter.
Also the lakes frozes.
In Lappland there are famous mountain ski resorts that are open for travellers and ski enthustiastics.
There are more snow and colder climate at Lappland. The night is also very long. Max 24h/day
The traditional Finnish Lappland dresses.
The rumour says that The Santa lives at Lappland too with his reindeers.
Only few hours of sunlight at winter but white snow makes it more light.
Maybe we can go to find a hill and...

Also it's good to prepair for the next winter by doing the wood cutting in the forests when the ground is solidified by ice.
And of course when the ice melts away you won't be able to use heavy machinery to move the lumber.
When the days come longer at fast paste it's good to get a spiring spirit and just go for it.
