ReturningHome

I returned home the morning since it would have taken too long in Tokyo to see anything. I was tired also and slept the rest of the day until next mourning after eating. ^_^ the ride to sendai took 8h

I had to spend a night at Tokyo station since I didn't have any place to sleep fot the night. In Tokyo I realized that the town really sleeps at night and Tokyo Central Railwaystation is closed also in the night.

RidingJR

When all plans fails you have to do something weird. Firstly I wanted to take the night train but it was sold out. Seconly I wanted the sa-sunday shinkansen ticket but it wasn't sold this week. Finaly I had to do this in one day!!! Hiroshima 8.22am - Tokyo 11.16pm 900km. The way goes: Hiroshima - Okayama - Aiou - Kyoto - Maibara - Oogaki - Toyohashi - hamamatsu - Shizuoka - Atami - Tokyo. Look at the changes from the minimap and you'll understand.

Himeji Castle 姫路城

On the way to Hiroshima I went to see The famous Himeji castle. It survived the Meiji restaration as well as the 2nd WW. It's said to be the most beautiful castle in Japan. I railed the route Kyoto - Himeji - Aiou - Okayama - Hiroshima.

Full Day Of Kyoto

I had only one day scheduled for Kyoto so have to see lot of things. This day We went with Takeshi to many places and saw many UNESCO sites. I just love this mass spam of historical sites. The second Capital OF JAPAN KYOTO! Here it is...

Whe I got back to Kyoto from Nara I walked to the hostell. It was a bad move since it was really hot. Though I made it and made a new friend at the hostel with whom we went to see the darkening town.

Nara 奈良

When I came to Kyoto I left my stuff at the coinlocker and headed straight to Nara. Nara is the First capital of Yamato. That's the first country that was founded in Japan. It's odd to see the birthplace of Japanese culture.

Deepstrike to Kyoto

I went to Sendai - Kyoto bｙ train. Sendai - Yamagata - Yomezawa - Niigata - Kyoto. It took 14h 30min and the travelled lenght was 807,6km.

Sendai Tanabata

Sendai Tanabata 仙台七夕 is famous matsuri in Sendai. The most famous one. Everybody in Japan knows it. There comes hundreds of thousands of people to see the matsuri. They hang decorations those origin are dandelions. Those are everywhere. They have made those from every imaginable material. Recyle plastic to big tanabatas made from separate origamis.

Hanabi　花火

5.8.2008 was the day of sendais famous Hanabitaikai 花火大会 that starts the Sendai Tanabata. This fireworkshow is completly founded by the citisens by themself and the money collectors have been in the shopping streets for months to collect money for this 1,5h show. I went there with my yukata.

Aizu-Wakamatsu

I went to Bandai Platou that is in Fukushima ken with Lauri on 26.7.2008. We experienced a little difficoulties with JR on the way. Missed 1st change by 15min thanks to JR's being late at Koriyama. 1h a way. Then We went to Aizu Wakamatsu where there's the national historic site of Tsuruga-jo Castle. The busses did't go Goshinuma there so we had to go to Inawabashiro. Missed the train by 5min -> 1h wait. We saw the couloured spirings but everything stops after 5pm... Why? So we were lucky to find a bus back. There were a Yama kanji written on the mountain there also and some kind of fest but we were in horry so we didn't check it out. We missed the train by 10min. 1h wait and there will be no trains to Sendai. Exept the express way Shinkansen which we couldn't ride with out 18kippu.

Shiroishi Castle

The day of the sea (umi no hi 21.7) was national holyday in Japan. When I went cycling two days before and I liked it I decided to go to Shiroishi. I tried to go there the day before but leaving too late and watching the places in the way took all of my time. So this time I did it Lasse's way and left early. So I can see the Shiroishi castle. ^_^ The only thing is that it was raining when I left...

Cycling outside of Sendai

I went cycling outside of Sendai this weekend. Firsd day I went to north to the Izumi Park Town and the next day south to Iwanuma and little souther from there too. I got lost in the way also since I didn't have a map. It wouldn't be fun with a map ^_^.

Wednesday we had our first Japanese tests here. So People were nervous and top of that there were the kanji test that everybody was waiting to be a slaughting. This is the school life that I live in pictures for the one who wanted it. Nothing much to see here.

Rakuten Eagles

With our lab we went to Japanese top league game where Rakuten eagles and Shiba rotte mariinzu were agains each other. The weather become rainy twise and I got wet twise too because I didn't take my raingear with me. Normal for rainy season.
