Super Isaac es-'cape'-ing...
Two weeks after getting his first bicycle (birthday present from his Oom Daan and Tante Audrey) he's already riding on his own around our loop.
Cheeky boofhead
Just over 3 years old. Constructing his own sentences but sometimes hard to understand. Still very tall for his age. Motor skills are good and a generally very healthy, happy kiddo. Just wish he would sleep more!

Although still regularly displaying toddler behaviour Isaac's independence, his ability to do things on his own has really turned him into a little boy. Language has picked up to conversation level but pronunciation is still not very clear.
Isaac's finally starting to improve at communicating using words. Although words are usually not pronounced clearly, he can speak sentences and his comprehension (of both languages) can at times catch us out!
From a stunning 'tree-top walk' view at Kings Park, the first thing Isaac notices is a far away bull dozer on a construction site!
One of Isaac's many talents

At Leo's second birthday party
The Little Feet festival had all sorts of attractions for kids, including a very friendly snake.
Singing and playing at the same time. Even Papa can't do that!
Isaac decides it's time to rev it up.
Uncle Daan came round with his shiny new motorbike so Isaac just had to check it out. It's a good thing his feet can't reach the pegs yet...
In the cubby house with Sophie and Charly at Nonnies
Helping Papa paint
Lots of stickers today!
During Isaac's surgery (under general anaesthetic) he was also given a local anaesthetic which can be seen in his wonky smile.
The intense look on his face is a good indication of his fascination for toy helicopters
That cheeky grin can only mean one thing....trouble!
Isaac focused on painting

Isaac Roar(s)
Soon it's going to be hard keeping up with the little monster.
At Synergy Park (in King's Park) we had a picnic with friends. Isaac spent most of the time exploring on his feet with either Papa or Mama in tow.
Lieke and Andrew came to the West for a week and popped round
With cousin Beau. The walking is becoming more natural and his 'character' is really beginning to shine through.
Amongst the animals at Ella's first birthday.
Playing with his new water table. Today Isaac is one year old and yes...he has been taking his first steps!
Hmmm, normally Papa takes pictures of me...

Typical shot of Isaac these days...mouth wide open!
Chasing the chicks
Playing with the plastic tubs. Eight months old.
Reading with Papa.
Isaac has now got his hands and knees coordinated enough to crawl
As well as solving the cube, Isaac is on the brink of crawling (he hasn't coordinated hands with knees yet). He's also rolling comfortably from his back to front which became a problem during last night's sleep.
Eating a big strawberry, Isaac manages to get it pretty much anywhere he can. Four teeth are now through and a fifth is not far away. He is also starting to shuffle around a bit more so it looks like it won't be long now before he starts to crawl. 7 months and 1 week old.
Picnic at Kings Park for Father's day
Jolly Jumping
Just over 7 months old.
Isaac with Oma
Vegemite kid? Roughly 61/2 months old.
This was a cheeky shot Renee set up. With less than a week before he turns six months old, Isaac has finally rolled! His second tooth has also come through and he has learnt to push himself around in his walker.
Next week Isaac turns 6 months. He is eating solids regularly (twice a day) and this morning finished a little jar in the one sitting. Renee has been weaning him off breast milk (now replaced with solids and formula). This shot was taken with our new camera (Canon EOS 450D).
Mmmm sweet potato! Isaac is just over five months now and has his first tooth poking through at the bottom! He's also wriggling much more, lifting his hips whilst on his back and flexible enough to suck on his feet. Still no rolling though.
Renee couldn't resist when she saw this swing on special. Climbing gear donned, Papa had to climb into the tree to hook up the ropes and before too long Isaac was swinging away.
Nijn is Dutch, better known as Miffy in English. It's actually short for "konijn" which means rabbit.
Isaac has one of his first meals - rice cereal.
With the ladies from his mother's group.
Something a bit more "artistic" - this photo has a paintbrush filter applied to it. Isaac is now four months old, weighs 7.7kg and is 69cm long. He's become very interested in the world around him and his facial expressions show it! He's also exploring what ever he can with his mouth. On a somewhat more challenging note, he's also waking up much more often at night than we'd like (at times every two hours) so we've been trying different things to get him to sleep longer.
Isaac with Kylie and Damian. Kylie is Renee's sister and of course therefore Isaac's aunty. Isaac is almost 12 weeks old.
Sitting on Papa's knee in our back yard. Almost ten weeks old now.
Leo is on the left - he is five weeks older than Isaac.
At nine weeks old in his rocker. This is his front row seat from where he gets to watch Renee's cooking show.
Elizabeth took this photo when we visited the Vanek family on Easter Sunday.
Almost six weeks old and now fitting in clothes labelled for six month old babies! We also had the 'six-week' checkup this week and although he's slightly heavier than average for his age, he's almost off the chart in terms of length versus age.
Yep, for a few weeks now he's had no trouble lifting his head and to a certain extent shuffling around. I think he'd fall into the "active baby" category. Note also his milk rash which seems to come and go a bit. And those blue eyes still haven't changed colour...
One of those little cheeky smiles. You can almost see him plotting his next scheme...
Almost five weeks old
Renee took this shot today. Very funny with the teddy. We had to cut his hair because he kept pulling it and then getting upset which made him pull it harder which made him more upset...
Family shot
At one week old he's becoming a bit more active and finally eating better!
Colour of his eyes are still dark blue and his hair is still longer than his Dads.
Typical photo of Isaac...sleeping. Some people say we're lucky :)
Isaac with Opa just after he was born.
At 3 1/2 months old and weighing almost 7kg.
