Following their return from duty in Afghanistan, and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the regiment's foundation, the 1st Queen's Dragoon Guards, also known as 'the Welsh Cavalry', based at Maindy Barracks Cardiff, excercise their Freedom of the City with a homecoming parade with the salute being taken by HRH Prince Charles.

Parish Pilgrimage 2009

A visit to Croft Castle and gardens, a National Trust property for over 50 years, followed by Evensong in Leominster Priory, the town's Parish Church, founded in 660. The oldest part of the present building is from the same period as the foundation of St John's Cardiff, and gives an idea of what ours might originally have looked like.

St Davids on Good Friday

Photographs taken on Good Friday, 10th April 2009, at one of Wales' oldest places of pilgrimage, where St David, patron Saint of Wales, founded a house of prayer and hospitality in the sixth century, which is still welcoming worshippers, as the mother church of the diocese and parish Church of the 'city' (village) of Tyddewi, with over 400,00 visitors annually

St John's Cardiff - fit for the future

Photos taken during the £170,000 restoration work, in St John's City Parish Church Cardiff, which began in October 2007 with repairs to one of the 15 century nave window frames and cleaning of its fine Victorian pre-Raphaelite glass. This was followed by re-decoration of nave and aisles with plasterwork repairs followed by refurbishment of floors, January to June 2008.
