Expect these to be replaced one day with the newer MUTCD-compliant versions with “Left Exit” tabs. As it is, I-10 continues in the right lanes as the left ones connect to I-59 and I-12. This marks the northbound beginning of Interstate 59.
The first exit on I-59 North is an extension of I-10's numbering: Left Exit 267B to I-12 West. I-59 North's pullthrough has a tab for Exit 267A on it.
As traffic bound for I-12 West peels off, traffic enters I-59 North from a loop ramp from I-12 East.
The first mileage sign for I-59 North appears after getting out of the I-10/I-12/I-59 split: Three miles to Pearl River, 75 miles to Hattiesburg.
The next exit on I-59 North is for US 11 South and LA 1090 South. Notice the bare pole - this used to carry a call box like those found on the Lake Ponchartrain Causeway.
As we reach the half-mile sign for Exit 3, LA 1090 can be seen to the right, paralleling I-59 North like a service road.
Traffic bound for US 11 South and LA 1090 South peels off ahead. The interchange is a standard diamond.
I-59 enters the town limits of Pearl River for a short stretch.
After Exit 3, I-59 picks up US 11. The two stay joined until Exit 1 in Mississippi.
The next exit for I-59/US 11 North is Spur LA 41 West, Exit 5A.
One half mile to Exit 5A.
Traffic bound for Spur LA 41 will exit here at Exit 5A.
I-59 and US 11 northbound reach Exit 5B, Honey Island Swamp. This exit also leads to an otherwise inaccessible part of US 11's former alignment.
Southbound on I-59/US 11 now, 1/2 mile from Exit 3, where US 11 departs the concurrency. LA 1090 also begins/ends at the upcoming interchange.
US 11 departs from Interstate 59 here. Notice the error on the sign?
Now leaving the Exit 3 complex on Interstate 59 southbound. I-59 travels alone to its terminus.
Slidell lies 4 miles ahead, but I-59 will conclude before that. New Orleans is 32 miles away, via westbound I-10.
Combination rest area and Welcome Center along I-59 southbound. The southern terminus is ahead just past this.
Entering the complex that serves as common termini of I-59 and I-12. First up, Exit 1A, to I-12 westbound to Hammond. Interests to Baton Rouge should depart here as well.
Next is Exit 1B, departing from the right lane along a loop ramp to eastbound I-10, which is signed for Bay St. Louis. You should also use this if you're heading for Gulfport, Biloxi or Mobile. Exit 1C is I-59's south END! as it defaults onto westbound I-10 bound for New Orleans.
