John Muir Trail #152 at Childer's Creek (western-most terminus). The trail in general hugs the northern bank of the Hiwassee River. This first section is pancake flat.

lots of kayakers and tubers in the river. we so wanted to steal one and float back!
soaking sore legs in a very chilly river post-run.
apparently there is a big X on the trestle marking where the water is deep enough to jump. no thanks!
but... Mark couldn't resist the plunge.
