Iquique 2010
Left wet Vancouver to go to the least rainy spot on the west coast of the Americas. The Atacama desert and Iquique in Chile. Flyable every day. Morning you fly above town at Alto Hospicio. Light wind thermalling, launch at 10am. 70km out and return easily possible when good. Good days start cloudy.
Lunch, swim, siesta, then go to Palo Buque 10km south of town at 4PM. Good till dark, you might have to chill till 5 or 6 if its windy, but then it'll be good till dark.
Went inland up to the Andes as well. Geysers, high lakes, and other beautiful scenery.
Flew a bit in Lima on the way back north too.
