Lady Victory - Soldiers & Sailors Monument
In 1901 there wasn't the machinery to lift the statue, so men, horses, and pulleys hoisted Victory to the top of the monument one piece at a time. Workers assembled the 38-foot tall sculpture 280 feet above the ground.
