This annual event is one of the most time consuming, complicated and well documented events of the show. Each quilt is closely examined to make sure it is in the right category before being judged even more closely but our NQA certified judge.

OQG11-Gone To Pieces 20th Anniversary
Gone To Pieces, a small quilt group, celebrated it's 20th Anniversary on February 5, 2011 with a luncheon and display of items made by the group over the past 20 years. Also, the group has a quilt project that they are working on and will enter into this years quilt show to commemorate this event. A great time was had by all as you can see.

OQG10-Mormon Trail Center Quilt Show
The Quilt Show at the Mormon Trail Center is wonderful. Several of our members have quilts in the show. The decor and the quilts are in a beautiful setting. The show runs until September 27 and is free. The center is on State Street and North Ridge Drive--just west up the hill from 30th on State Street in the Florence area. We went to Harold's for lunch on 30th Street after we viewed the quilts. Pictures by Carol McCann

On Thursday, April 22nd, Jan Fry, Mary Cave and Kathy Havranek attended the fundraiser for Susan G. Komen. Jan designed and Mary quilted the Heart Of My Heart quilt that was pieced by many OQG members. The quilt was signed by survivors and those supporting the search for a cure.

PRESS RELEASE FROM VA HEALTH CARE SYSTEM (Omaha 2.23.2010) Stakeholders and Friends of VA, We invite you to attend a very special event that will honor 20 Iraqi and Afghanistan combat Veterans at the Omaha VA Medical Center Feb. 25 at 4:30 p.m. You may have heard of a program called "Quilts of Valor." This program is where local quilters guilds or individuals create quilts and then present them to our combat Veterans to "wrap them in love." It's a wonderful opportunity for the Veterans to receive these quilts that will remind them the community recognizes their selfless service. Please feel free to attend this ceremony in the main lobby area, near the pharmacy, of the Omaha VAMC Thursday.
