Liquid cooling helps a lot, brought the CPU from 85 to 52 degrees and costs around 80$
This lid liner option has the mouse, one Quador 5800 and two Fusion-io cards (stacked). I also have another liner where I plucked holes for two Quadro cards and the fusion-io cards (stacked on the GPUs) for stereoscopic work.
7 PCI express slots leaves a lot of expansion space. I can easily fit two GPUs and a few Fusion-io cards
Seen here with optional backplane (with card screws) and additional fan for running 5 fusion-io cards. I usually leave these parts at home and install them when setting up for a longer term project
The roll-up usb keyboard is for going into the BIOS as the bluetooth doesn't kick in till windows or linux boots up. It rolls up and fits in the black US Logic pouch seen in the bottom left next to the motherboard.
There is a 64GB SSD boot drive mounted under the motherboard. The 320GB Velociraptor is for storage space and demos, You could easily have a 1TB 2.5" drive for capacity.
