A snowy drive along the Rockies Highway
Begining our journey to the cave
This year we were assited by two Parks Canada scudoos which got the bulk of our kit to the base of the moraine.
Fun with sledges!
Good conditions for the tour to the cave. The Canadians who had gone in two days earlier were not so lucky with whiteout conditions.
Scudoos on the glacier.
The steep moraine slope caused its usual carnage as people tried to stomp or ski up with overful sledges. This year we got a rope system going again to haul the sledges up.
Once at the top of the moraine it was back to slogging it out with full packs and sledges

Ben and myself decided we hadn't had enough misery yet so slept in a snowhole beforing touring onto the ice shelf the next day.
Unfortunately weather was a bit rubbish but we still went as far as the Peak Andromeda
The snow was a bit thin in certain areas at the base of the glacier on the return trip
Chris enjoying a beer at the end!
Martin in the ice crawls. There was considerably less ice build up on this years trip
Continueing into the cave. the carry to the sump, whilst not technically is basically a fairly miserable crawl not helped by the way the cave 'eats' tackle bags.
In Boons blunder on the gear carry
One section has extra appeal in being flat out and bit more miserable than the rest

Assisting Martin in kiting up for the first dive
Martin after passing the sump. Close to 900m of diving saw him emerge in a large 'Subway' style passage disappearing off into the mountain.
