On the summit of the Lagginhorn.
Gearing up for the big week at the carpark in Saas-Almagell.
Easy so far - heading up to the Almagellahutte.
1200m later....
Weismeis - 4027m - tomorrow's destination (but seen from the other side).
Heading up the Weismeis - that's not the summit, far from it!
Dawn on the Weismeis.
Taking a break on a rare patch of hard snow.
Weismeis summit, too knackered to perform!
Oh, alright then!
The Jegihorn (3206m) - the Vie Ferrata goes up the right hand spur, down into the Col, and up to the summit on the left.
Gaz being encouraging.
The 'short cut' which avoids the Col.
Now that's what I call a serious 3-wire bridge!
Rope stairway to heaven. Not for us....
On the bridge, hooked on to just about every available cable!
Gary on the cable bridge.
Heading up...
Traversing the slab (with the help of a hefty cable).
Lunchtime on the Jegihorn summit.
Wildlife on he way home from the Jegihorn.
The Weismeis hut.
Lagginhorn - 4010m (the route runs all the way up thr ridge on the left foreground).
Heading up the ridge. Love that deep, soft snow!
Bergfuhrer Gaz mit Bergkinder Phil, appoaching the summit of the Lagginhorn.
Counting the steps to the summit....
I'm there, and I'm knackered.
Heading home. Love that deep, soft snow (part 2).
Phil on the Allalinhorn, the Brittannia Hut is in the background.
A young Ibex near the Britannia Hut.
Allalinhorn - 4029m
Adjusting the glasses before the cloud came in. The 'railway station' (really!) can be seen at the end of the groomed track.
In the cloud, and almost on top of the Allalinhorn, 4029m.
God, give me strength?
Thankyou Gary. Another fantastic week, even if I did swear at you from time to time.
