David wanted a pickup the design, so I cut it to his instructions with the hand saw and the sabre saw.
Artwork was also under David's direction and application using permanent markers. He chose flames for the sides and the bed, blue windows, and black undercarriage. He also asked that I draw two round headlights and two taillights as well!
At sign-in, the truck weighed in at 96 grams; racing weight is 142 grams so there was some work to be done. Here leader Ken hot glues a stick of lead to apply on the truck bed. Not pictured are the three massive metal washers hot glued to the undercarriage!
Yep, it's blurry. But you can see the line of lead on the bed.
Success! 142 grams achieved at the official weigh-in, and the truck (lower tray, near her hand) gets shelved along with other racers as Entry T-5!
