Jangseung or village guardian is a Korean totem pole usually made of wood. Jangseungs were traditionally placed at the edges of villages to mark the village boundaries and frighten away demons.

Samsung New Millennium Hourglass in Jeondongjin. Built to commemorate the start of the new Millennium, unveiled on the first day of 2000. The hourglass is more than 26 feet in diameter and contains eight tons of sand taking exactly one year for the sand to move from the upper chamber to the lower. The hourglass is rotated at midnight on December 31 attracting thousands of people to the area to celebrate the beginning of a new year.

Jeon Buk Ham - This Destroyer at the Warship Pavilion at Anin was made in USA in 1944 and was used by the ROK(Repuplic Of Korea) navy from 1972 to 1999 when it was retired. The ship saw duty in WWII, Korean War and the Gulf War. The ships weight is 3,471 tons, had a top speed of 32 knots and carried 280 people. This ship is the only warship being diplayed on land in the world.

In September 1996, a North Korean submarine got stranded on some underwater rocks here in Anin South Korea forcing the crew to get out and try to return to North Korea. This prompted a deadly manhunt that lasted over a month (25 of the 26 crew members were shot dead and the South Korean casualties, civil and military, tallied 17). Seeing inside the submarine one really wonders how 26 people could have fit in such a cramped space – let alone live.
