Alex meets Calvin
Calvin, like Nick, can stare at upside down frogs for hours.
Fish and chips at Anstruther Fish Bar, 2009 UK Fish and Chip Shop of the Year. We were a little skeptical, but it really was a cut above. Especially compared to Dundee.
Heading down the coast of the Firth of Forth from Pittenweem.
An old windmill that used to bring water up to some salt shacks, where they made salt. Out of seawater. This was a major export around 1800.
We know this because we read this sign.
Technical singletrack-
Calvin likes it.
Ice cream on yet another monotonously gorgeous day on the southern Scottish riviera.
Calvin is ok with things. For now- he would later scream all night.
The tide coming back in on Pittenweem.
Fishing boats in the historic harbor.
This is the only picture we took in Crail- Calvin was getting a little cranky.
The next day, a walk through the woods to Castle Campbell.
The walk was up this creek through a rainforest-like microclimate.
First view of the castle- dramatic and flowery.
Lots of pictures on the castle's veranda.
It's mostly ruined, but the tower is in good shape.
Sam on the look out for English people.
Commanding view.
This is probably the most dramatically sited castle we've seen in Scotland. Recommended for when you come and visit us in the next few months.
