Pile Up Dayton 2010
At the Dayton (Ohio, USA) HamVention and seeing so many DX ops from all over the world there - VU2PAI, PY1NB, XE1KK, G3RZP, VK5CP and many other VKs, WP3R, KP4KE, many Russians and Eastern Europeans and many, many others -- but that gives a representative sample of the broad geographic distribution.
Awesome!
The Kansas City DX Club's annual pileup competition was again a highlight.
K1VR was amazing, copying 73 callsigns. Fred says he was "in the zone" from about halfway through the five minutes.
K4BAI, John, also amazed, in second place with 70 callsigns copied.
Regular winner W9WI wasn't far off the pace.
15-year-old K0DXC, Cal, is clearly going to be a perennial contender, with 60 callsigns.
The competition was a tribute to W0JM/SK, a longtime KCDXC member and DXer, taking callsigns from his actual log from 1930-1938!
N0RB had the pleasure of hosting VU2PAI at his station for a few hours before they all went to Dayton.
