California Nevada [photos]

This was my trip in August of 2007 out West with Larry Golson. We flew into Reno and headed south to Lake Tahoe. From there we headed to California to do some backcountry Hiking in Yosemite National Park. Our final destination was the Burning Man Festival in Gerlach, Nevada. Burning Man was amazing, easily one of the most unusual cultural experiences of my life. Hope to head back within the next 3-4 years.

Provence [photos]

June of 2007 I headed to Aix-en-Provence to teach the SAT and paint the Provencal landscape. I was painting from morning to night, and when I'm in painting mode, I'm rarely in photography mode. But I captured a few shots for references of my paintings. Of particular interest is the factory in Gardanne. That was so unusual. Also- Chateau Noir is quite an unusual building and space.

Bali [photos]

In March 2007 I headed to Bali with small group of fellow explorers. Doug Van Koss, our soulful guide, led us for 10 days through the cultural richness of the island. Bali is a beautiful space, and the people live beautiful lives. A visual and sensual treat. From Bali I took a brief trip to Singapore before returning to the States.

New Zealand [photos]

December 2006, Larry Golson and I made the trek across the globe to the South Island of New Zealand. For 10 years I had been anticipating this trip. It was worth the wait. Of all my world travels, New Zealand stands out as the most physically beautiful and diverse country I've seen. I hope to return soon.

December 2005, David Poline and I headed south to Peru to take on the Inca Trail. It was a walk though time that gave us the opportunity to explore the roots of a beautiful culture. So nice to spend a week on the trail.
