RI New I-195/I-95 Interchange
Providence, Rhode Island - New section of I-195 and interchange with I-95 in mid-construction. Taken May 3rd, 2007.
In addition to being a well designed functional improvement, this is shaping up to be a very beautiful project as well. All of the new concrete structures, bridge abutments and highway support columns have been designed with a great deal of style.
This almost Quebec-like attention to bridge and highway artwork is rare to see on new construction anymore. My cell phone pictures can't begin to capture all the interesting and beautiful details, so I hope you'll get a chance to visit Rhode Island and see it in person!
