Leaving Maple Bay
The truck arrives at the Cowichan Bay ramp
I was impressed how thorough this guy was about making sure your Boat was sitting correctly and fastened down
I was surprised to see how little draft she draws and how clean the haul was
here Mark is laying up the wings using the plugs as molds
one of the chalk lines used in his measurements
she was bagged to contain the dust
she gets washed again
these had to be removed for the wings. one will be plugged (old transducer) the other will be refit when glass work is done
a strip of wood is used full length to ensure precise width and straightness. once the wings are tabbed on the wooden strip is removed
rope is used to pull out temp wood strip
bulkheads glassed in
here you can see the bow of the skeg plate. with a vertical piece of the same size steel welded on, it will form an upside down "T" and be very strong
the completed wing ready for the final glass layup process
Hope you like what you see, more to come
these strips are now removed as well as the glue, a light sanding and a coat of finish should completely hide the fact anything was here before
