On the way from Oslo to Turtagrø, I had to take a short break at Tyin to gaze at the mountain panoramas and the steep summit of Urdanostind (2157m).
Stunning views of Austabotntind (2204m) at the mountain road between Øvre Årdal and Turtagrø
There are still a lot of snow on the road between Årdal and Turtagrø, even in the end of May. The elevation here is aprox 1200m.

My campsite in Ringsdalen. Isn't beautiful?
Midtre Ringstind by sunset
I started early the next morning (7AM) to take advantage of the solid snow. Due to less snow than a normal year, I had to walk for approx 1 hour before I could put the skis on.
Ringstindane early in the morning
Midtre Ringstind (2025m) rising like a small version of Everest.
My alpine boots and skis are quite heavy to carry, so I was glad to finally reach the snow here.
The red line was my chosen route to the summit of Store Ringstind (2124m). I stayed far away from the crevasses in the lower part.
From the summit of Store Ringstind I could see the steep northface of Austabotntind. From this angle the mountain looks like a big dog watching his territory.

One more summitpicture from Store Ringstind. The dominant peak in the background is Store Austabotntind which I ascended two years ago

Summit picture from Store Ringstind (2124m), showing my next objective for the day, Midtre Ringstind (2025m) and the rather steep west ridge. (red line)
My final steps on the west ridge of Midtre Ringstind (2025m). Good style? Definately not, but this is simply how it looks like when the ice-axe is too short and the crampons get stuck in soft snow.
Summit picture from Midtre Ringstind (2025m) on a beautiful day. Store Ringstind which I ascended earlier that day, can be seen in the background. A perfect slope for downhill skiing as you can imagine!!!

Summit views from my third peak this day, Østre Ringstind (2002m). Stølsmaradalstind (2026m) in the distance, which was my objective for the following day.
Me on the third and last summit for this day. The two others peaks of Ringstindane in the background. From here it was 1000 meters downhill skiing to the campsite. What a day....
