We were going to Miraflores to explore the area that we had seen on our Oct. 1999 mule trip. I had also been in this area on a 1997 mule trip. The group on this trip was Rosemary, Clair, Tomas, Correen, Marvin and Aletha and me (Richard).
Our first camp was just south of Rancho Miraflores. We needed permission from Rancho Miralores to go into that area. Our friend Tomas Arce, who was one of our guides on our last mule trip, came with us.
