Bamboo blank ready for bamboo leaf inlays that Qua designed.
Inlay pattern is designed to provide visual cues at appropriate frets by using a non-symmetric pattern. Note that some inlays cross frets. I didn't want to make the leaves much smaller at the frets closer to the bridge.
Emmett finished the bamboo with a stain to give it a more rich color, and excellent contrast for the inlays. Also seen are the Stickup/EMG hybrid pickup and the GK3 "midi" pickup.
Headstock with smokey grey tuners. The smokey grey has a 'silvery' appearance that is very similar to the peal inlays. I was considering ordering white-pearl buttons for the tuners, but decided to keep the smokey grey since it turns out to be an excellent match.
