440 repeater to SKECT system
Richard N0KR made the trip to Colby early this morning with the new Icom repeater, link radios, antennas, hard line and mounts. Randy Smith left SW Ks at 5:00 AM and made it to Colby by 8:45.
Mike K0FJ, Bruce K0BJ and Nathan KC0GLA provided the ground crew assistance and installed the equipment in the rack.
Existing hard line on the tower turned out to be OK and the tower project involved replacing two antennas and the top connector on the 7/8 hard line. Randy was off the tower by approx 2:30 just about the time that the ground crew was finishing up tying up the cables for a professional looking install.
The frequency is 444.400 using a PL of 141.3.
The repeater has 22 watts out of the duplexers and ΒΌ watt reflected. The link radio also has very good SWR readings.
Initial tests with the system sound very good.
