Before each song, there were Scripture readings and other narration to tell the story of Jesus' birth and the events surrounding it.
Anna (portraying the prophetess, Anna) danced to "Hope of Israel," an instrumental song of longing and intercession.
Simeon was a righteous man in Israel, a prophet who had been told by the Holy Spirit that he would not die until he had seen the Promised One.
He danced/pantomimed to the song "The Promise," foretelling the coming Messiah.
Other worshipers joined in: "We're singing Alleluia..."
"Emmanuel... Our God is with us."
Ballet II and Anna then danced to "Come Oh Redeemer Come"
A song of longing...
...yearning for the Redeemer to come and set them free.
"Father enthroned on high... Ancient Eternal Light, Hear our prayer."
Wee Ballet (with Sarah's help) danced to "O Little Town of Bethlehem"
They make cute little star angels! :)
"Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, the silent stars go by..."
Ballet I danced to "O Come All Ye Faithful"
"Sing choirs of angels, sing in exaltation!"
"We give Him all the glory..."
"We give Him all the glory... Christ the Lord!"
Basic Ballet/A danced to "Mary Did You Know." It's always fun to dance in the swirly, white dresses!
They worked so hard and learned their dance so well - a hard thing for 6 & 7 year olds!
"Mary did you know, that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?"
Simeon and Anna proclaimed the words of Isaiah 9:6-7 - "For to us a child is born..."
"The Zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this!"
"He is here! The Savior has been born!" Anna dances in joy!
"Let your glory be revealed!"
"Joy to the world, and peace to all who love Him!"
Beginning ballet danced to "One King"
They portrayed princesses, daughter of the Magi
The song talked about 4 kings: the three who brought gifts, and Jesus, who held the hope of the world.
Mr. Kevin did the solo part in "My Deliverer"
Basic Ballet/B did the main group part, with Ballet II filling in the background.
We added flags for a fun twist
Praise God, for our Deliverer has come, and will one day come again to take us to be with Him!
