If you want to add bra cups to a dress, it is fairly easy to do. First, you must line the bodice. My dress pattern has a split bodice, so it is in two pieces. Then, carefully lay the cups on the wrong side of lining fabric leaving 1" below the cup. I also left 1" on each side of the center front. You will have to check your own measurements for placement. Mark placement with a water soluble pen or chalk
Next, you will want to pin the cups to the lining. The first time, I did not mark placement ahead of time and I could not get them pinned on straight
Use a wide zig zag stitch and sew the cups to the lining. I had trouble with my machine and it was skipping stitches, but it still secured the cups to the lining.
This is the view from the inside. Had I not used swimsuit lining, I would have cut the lining fabric away from the inside of the cup and covered the stitching and raw edge with bias strips of lining or tricot.
